More than just the stories, I love the simplicity of the illustration style. My kids like naming the colors in the pictures.

I don't know that this is any classic children's book, but my two-year-old boy LOVES Cleo. We checked this out from the library, and each night he was all "read Cleo! read Cleo!" When we returned it to the library: "bye-bye Cleo." We've checked it out since then, and now I'll have to get him a copy. He likes the 1st book, "Cleo the Cat," as well, though I prefer the "Colors" book.
